How do you define roles and skills within an industry and communicate them consistently? That was the question posed to WorkUp’s Simon Holbrook. He spent months working with the Water Supply Industry’s best minds to define 5 categories, 18 roles, 90 technical skills, 37 core skills and 15 transferrable skills. This now allows the WSI to streamline recruitment to ensure these crucial roles are filled, and look at the pathways available to help people grow within the industry. Industry leaders can also future proof their industry by developing and retaining staff.
Simon asked me to design a way to present all of this information in a format that would be easy and clear to absorb. We produced an 80 page brochure, split into 5 colour coded sectors with all of the skills listed for the 18 roles. The skills were split into technical, core and transferrable. We also created a PowerPoint presentation so that industry leaders can present an overview of the core information to others.
FEEDBACK FROM SIMON HOLBROOK AT WORKUP:
“Working with Bernadette was like having an instant team member who had been there all along from project outset. Project strategy and intentions were quickly grasped and translated into meaningful visual design assets that both accelerated project delivery and significantly improved the final outcome. Bernadette is deeply experienced and is an assured hand to guide you visually with your design needs.”
